Tamrac Messenger
Tamrac began producing camera bags, along with bags for telescopes and tripods in 1977, when a group of Californian wildlife photographers realized that there were no protective carry bags for such equipment available. Over thirty years later, the company produces a range of different types of camera bags, including the Tamrac Messenger.
The Tamrac Adventure Messenger series, is based on the design of a traditional messenger carry bag with a slim shape that is intended to hug the body and remain comfortable for the photographer who is working with and carrying heavy equipment. Because the idea of the bags was formed by photographers themselves, the series also aims to provide quick and easy access to equipment for photographers who may need to capture a perfect shot.
The Tamrac Messenger 3 is one of the more compact bags in the series, providing space for a camera, two lenses and accessories. Padded dividers ensure that the equipment remains secure while a speed flap allows the main compartment to be reached quickly. Like some of the other bags in the series, there are also attachment slots so that extra accessories can be carried around if need be. Protection is paramount in terms of the design of the Adventure Messenger series, which is available in different sizes and styles
However photographers often need a bag that provides a bit more space for items like a flash or several lenses, which is why bigger bags like the Tamrac Photo Messenger 9 or the Tamrac Messenger 5 which is available in the Adventure Messenger range. The Messenger 9, while allowing compartment space for a camera, a few lenses and accessories also has a back padded pocket where the user can carry an electronic notebook. The Messenger 5, on the other hand, is designed for photographers who may need to carry a laptop around with a padded laptop compartment at the back. Both of the bags also come with padded dividers that can be adjusted to fit the equipment, keeping it secure and in place in the main compartment. There are also separate pockets and zips on the bags for personal items like cell phones, water bottles or iPods that can be reached easily when the photographer is on the move. The Tamrac Messenger 9, also referred to as the Photo Messenger, has a dual-entry system for easy access to the photographer’s equipment.
The Tamrac Messenger 4 is another option for photographers if they are interested in the Adventure Messenger range and is very easy to carry around as it comes with a specialized feature called the Piggy-Back pocket. This allows it to be secured onto rolling luggage if need be. The bag can hold several lenses, a camera and a flash, and like the Messenger 9 has adjustable dividers to keep the contents of the bag fastened, these are lined with foam for protection. It also utilizes the easy-access feature, with a speed pocket.
There are many options available for a photographer looking for a bag in the Adventure Messenger series, which offer a thin and comfortable design. Depending on the amount of equipment that the photographer has as well as his or her travelling trends, a Tarmac Messenger can be found to suit their needs. These bags are designed for comfort, protection and easy-access.
